Thanks to all for the info, here's what I did.

I found out that through my school I'm able to get insurance, but I missed the deadline to apply for it for this school semester so I'm going to have to wait until February for the next session to start. The cost is roughly $450 from February to September; the deductible is $250 with $35 doctor visits and 20% co pay on surgery and such.

Until that kicks in I've signed up for a Blue Shield temporary plan. It starts tomorrow and will go til February. It has a $1,000 deductible with 20% co pay; there is no preventative care though. Its cost is $130.
