Most likey not......it's a measurement thing....Needs checked when you do valve gaps. The 5 cylinder chains are not overly problematic....usually see 2 to 5 degrees retard at the cam when around 200,000 ml plus.

There is a s-l-i-g-h-t possibility the rack is not returning to low fuel position, or seeing a little turbo positive boost pressure.

Check the boost lines and the connectors for clear from the manifold banjo bolt to the pump banjo bolt..

Thanks for your patience. I will check the stretch.
I have cleaned out the boost pressure line a couple years ago and will check it again. The car also is somewhat smokey and rich-burning smelling after startup until up to op. temp. This begs many other questions I'm sure... but I've swapped the injectors with low mileage rebuilts and oil use is low.
I have been reluctant to mess with the rack bolt, but I will give it a shot.
