When I was in h.s., a family friend bought a new 560SEC ~90G's at the time. Blew the engine within the first week of ownership. Turns out there were some metal filings between the cylinder wall and piston and she seized. He didn't want a new car, so in a matter of days, Mercedes jettted a new M117 lump to the states and the dealer swapped out the motor. Cost Mercedes a fortune-- but this sheat happens from time to time!
