So I finally got around to replacing my spin on filter today, spilled fuel all over my hands and such thanks to the filter drooling when I took it off, and the awesome original hand primer pump.

Anyways, I had a bunch of copper crush washers on hand, but it turns out they were too small

The one it requires is large and skinny...so I reheated the old one, then reused it, so far it does not appear to be leaking, if it does I'll get a correct washer and re-do it.
I took it for a spin afterwards, and WOW do I have my power back!!

It squealed the tires going into 2nd when I pulled out onto the main road! Standing start acceleration is way better, and it revs faster and higher now.

I am very pleased with the results, and because of this I decided to tear open the old one to see how dirty it was.
And now for the pictures, I dremeled the old filter casing apart, and this is what I found, it was DIRTY!! (that paper element was white when new). This is after around 22k miles or so.
