This is generally a bad idea, if you leave the car idle for a few months the best storage condition for the fuel tank is to be as full as practicable. The reason for this is that the moisture in the air in the tank will condense as the tank cools down. If temperatures rise and fall periodically, air will flow into and out of the tank, bringing higher moisture content air into the tank each cycle. When temperatures are above freezing, this can result in significant water buildup in the tank over time(
