I have the impression that at least some 240Ds came with smaller fuel tanks than the 300Ds, so you may not want one out of a 240D.
You are within easy driving range of Potomac German Auto near Frederick, MD. This is an item not in high demand and I'll bet they have a few good examples cleaned and ready to go. A Google search should find their website.
