Hey all, Its been a while since I've posted here.
Honestly, the ol' girl has been behaving.
Now i'm starting to get into those little MB pet peeves of mine.
I've always wanted the wipers on my headlamps. I got the Euros and made the car look 20 years newer, but the wipers were something that was still missing. As luck would have it, a friend of mine that owns a junk yard called me up the other day and told me he had a W126 in the lot to swing by and look to see if I needed anything off of it. When I got there I saw it was an 88 or 89 and had the wipers. I took off the whole system including the second washer pump off the tank.
My question (after this long and tedious intro) can I retrofit that system (us version) to my 300SD that never had the wiper system in the headlamps. If so, what do I need to do to make them operational? I have read all of the threads on headlamp wipers, but it seems that the questions are concerning people who already had the wiper system on their car not installing them in cars that never had them.
What I dont now is, how does the lamp wiper system know when to come on. (I know the lights have to be on, and the windshield washer activated for them to work). In other words, how do I wire the car to make them work. Has anyone ever done this?
