they will have Totally different wiring harnesses. I beleive your 500SL is a single fuel pump as well (not sure) in which case you'll have to switch to a dual.

The easiest way to go about it would be take the 560 engine and trans, pull the intake and distributor from the 500 and transplant them onto the 560. You'll lose a bit of the performance/economy but the swap will be Much easier.

As for your Euro 500, that engine w/ a set of AMG or similarly hot sticks would wake it up nicely.
