4. Did you grind/thin down the 14mm wrench heads? How much?

newbie question, but I wiil be doing this job next week, so now is the time to ask!

Thanks.
1) The wrench made with the cut off part of the socket is used to hold the valve spring retainer. I only needed it on two of the valves.

2,3) I made the wrench before I took the valve cover off on my car so I guessed on the size of opening but I would say its about 2/3 the size of the socket. The entire wrench is only about 3/8 of an inch thick. I cut off 1/4 inch of the end of the socket and welded that to 1/8 inch flat stock then cut a hole in the center with a hole saw then cut out the end and ground it till I was satisfied with it.

4) I didn't need to grind down the 14mm wrench heads but that seems to vary with the brand of wrench.
