Here in NY we have the same deal with rege's and insurance. You should consider using collectors insurance, Grundy's would cost me $70.00 a year (not a typo) for the SD

If I had the space I would keep my SD also, but the wife has to be put into the equation

#1 I know how that goes, looks like your SD will bring the most $. Maybe you should get some collectors ins. and drive for a month before you let it go?
