No, it's definately not 250lb-ft on the old 617 turbo motors. The 603 turbodiesel in my '87 is only rated at 195lb-ft@2400RPM, and it's quite a bit stronger than a 617. Even my newish 606 turbodiesel in my '98 sedan is only rated at 244lb-ft. I recall a figure of about 175lb-ft for the old five-banger turbos.
