Bolt Torque

While I can't supply the torque for your engine specifically, I do have the values for a 1979 240D. So for whatever it may be worth to you, here are the instructions from the MB Shop Manual.

The bolts are "waisted" and should be replaced when the shank diameter reaches the specified minimum. Would seem appropriate to use new bolts.

Instructions:

"Position flywheel, driven plate and shim on crankshaft journal so that marks agree.

Insert waisted bolts and torque to 30-40 Nm (3-4 kpm)

Using torquing angle set, apply final torquing angle of 90 to 100 degrees."
