I've run without T-stat for couple of Summers as last ditch measure to improve MB cooling. And with no thermostat the operating temp will drop 5-10 degrees. But its more of a July/August or severe heat wave kinda thing to do. With no thermostat at all the car will take helluva lot longer to reach operating temp.
