Question Heated seats? 123

While cleaning up under the driver's seat of my 1985 300DT, removing the stale french fries, gum wrappers, and dropped coins (over a dollar, comes right off of my purchase price ), I discovered two electrical connections under the seat. Both are attached to the floor pan, just behind the footwell. One might guess that they are for uninstalled options, but read on.

On the left side is a socket on a pigtail. It has a green wire and a brown wire and both look to be failrly light duty -- less than 18 gauge, probably 20-24 gauge. Way too light for heated seats or power seat adjust. There's no matching plug so this is (in my car) a dead end.

On the right is a plug and socket, also clipped to the floor. The plug (see attached picture) is plastic, about an inch long or less, with two tubular metal pins and a tubular plastic guide pin. Cast into the plastic body is a stylized "LK" and the number "9602." On the reverse side is "W. Germany." The wires from the socket go up under the console, about where the heated seat switch would be if my car had them; the plug's wire goes into the bottom of the driver's seat!!!

I checked the plug with a good digital ohmmeter and got zero point zero ohms. I don't know what the resistance of a heated seat should be but I would think that it should be an ohm or two to prevent drawing too much current. I don't want to try connecting a power supply to the plug until I get some guidance.

I tried searching this forum for clues, and although I found many references to heated seats, nothing quite answered my questions.

What are these things?
