I know you touched the wire and said ouch. But these older engines have the series glow plugs. You must be able to say ouch on the resistance wire that is furthest toward the front. Any plug can be shorted out going forward from where you touched the resitance wire. Do you know why they stopped using the car? Can you ask them? hopefully all was well the last time they shut it off. Also plugging in the block heater may help a little in the first start as the warmer you get the engine the easier the start. Concentrate on the fuel delivery but think you should have got at least a cough with the starter fluid. But perhaps not. Also since your fuel is old I would at least fill the filter with new fuel just on the off chance the fuel is bad. In fact might be a good ideal to drain the present fuel and put fresh in anyways. Diesel fuel generally stores far better than gas but exceptions are known. Also rather than letting frustation set in if unable to find out why it is not starting do a compression check. The compression gauge and adapters are available as low as 9.95 at hudsons or 16.95 at harbour freight for a complete set at a distributor that is spreading across the states. Once you are sure you are getting fresh fuel a tow start with a standard transmission is sometimes good with an engine out of service for a long time. The automatic can be towed as well but more complicated and much higher speeds have to be obtained. Read the archives as well about this. Sometimes it is required. Anything is possible but the injectors being clogged is such a long shot as to not consider at this stage of trying to find out why it is not starting. Almost impossible in otherwords. You are cranking but did you do as the one post sugested make sure fuel is coming out when you loosen an injector line at the injector ? While cranking? You have to make sure you have that first. If so make sure you have fresh fuel as well going through the system.
