Observation on Overheating

My car temp was a little higher than it was. I noticed that my overflow bottle was leaking (again). I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that the bottle was bad because I could move the brass part when it was hot. It is well-known that a even a small leak in your cooling system will raise the temperature, promote overheating and boil-over. So, I got another bottle, and a cap to be on the safe side, and I installed both (violation of rule #1: When diagnosing a problem, change one thing at a time). Problem solved. However, I noticed that now I have condensation in my overflow bottle. This makes sense, given that the system is now leak free. So, if you run your car, let it cool down some, and do NOT see condensation in the bottle, you may have a leak somewhere; you should address this first before looking anywhere else for cooling problems.
