....would things have turned out differently if you'd been carrying - "legally or not"? How would you have handled things if you'd been armed? Would you have brandished your weapon in an effort to ward the guy off? If you'd done that and it failed to discourage him, would you have - could you have - pulled the trigger? It's easy to claim you'd fire on another man - it's quite another thing to actually do it. I have no objection to legal carrying...providing you possess considerable and proper training in the use of weapons (that does not mean a weekend carry class, and off you go) and when to use them.
