I lucked out and found one that had been a money pit for the previous owner. He had done the evaporator, new condensor, new aux. fan, and many other repairs. But he didn't know about resoldering the ACC unit in the dash, and the A/C was continuing to run in the OFF position. When I got the car I did the resolder bit and the climate control works perfectly now.
My price was $2500 a few years back. With A/C I think you're in the $2000-2500 range also. Without it, in Texas, the car may not be worth buying.
