It helps or not depending on the condition of your wastgate. The wastegate is a spring loaded valve. When the boost pressure reaches 0.7 to 0.9 bar, the valve opens and vents the pressure. Over time, the spring gets weak and the valve open early. You either adjust the spring to bring it back to spec or use the mod to get the right boost pressure. When you get the pressure to the upper spec limit (0.9 bar) and adjust the ALDA (doing so may damage the ALDA) to get a little more fuel, your car will reach its performance limit.
