it wont hurt to crank it with the starter. just dont let it run for long. it wont hurt even to let it start up for a turn or two. i wouldnt think.

i would even consider dumping in a couple quarts of oil.

i wouldnt bother pulling it unless it was a good motor myself. so i would be very interested in hearing if it will fire off.
