a highboy rod is one in which the body sits on top of the frame in the original configuration.

a low boy is one in which the body is "channelled" which means it is set lower, over the frame. channeling makes a car look a lot lower and sleeker. doing it is very complicated as you have to reconstruct the floor at a new location and redo all the body mount points without destroying the ability to open and close things like doors and trunk lids.

a lowboy looks very cool though. i wonder though how many of them you can sit in and drive comfortably.
