Thanks for the info on removing the mirror. I found the rest of the screws holding in the lamp and switch housing. Now I have the mirror out and the Lamp and switch housing with the plastic cover still attached, dangling on the switch and miirror wiring.

I can't find the way to remove the outer plastic cover (which needs repainting), or release the wires from the two switches, the mirror connector and one other cable which goes into that housing.

I will sure appreciate any help on freeing that plastic cover.
