The asking price for the hammer coupe was $45K, and it still needed $2-3K of work to get in SMOG legal in California.

The original Hammer was a 6.0L 16V M117 V8, the 32V head was a special option.

I drove it and off-the-line it was fast, but not very fast due to the autobahn gearing. If I remember correctly it hit 125 MPH in 3rd gear (4-speed automatic).

Once "on the cam" at 4300 RPM, watch out. 75-120 MPH in the blink of an eye.
