I agree that it's newsworthy that the alleged killer has been arrested, but after what is it, 7 years? I'm tired of hearing about it.
On a national level ther are many stories that are more relevent to most people's lives, and stories like this one or Laci Peterson would just cause me to change the channel if I in fact had cable.

You've got a point -- the Laci Peterson story and especially the Holloway story have been beat with boards to extract every last ounce of commercial sponsorship.
This story interests me because of the cloud of suspicion that the family came under. The beauty pangeant thing was a bit strange but it's a stretch to assert that they killed the girl. If the guy had an ounce of integrity, he would have confessed just to take the heat off the family.
Instead, he's hanging out in low-priced kiddie prostitute land.
