I agree that it's newsworthy that the alleged killer has been arrested, but after what is it, 7 years? I'm tired of hearing about it.
On a national level ther are many stories that are more relevent to most people's lives, and stories like this one or Laci Peterson would just cause me to change the channel if I in fact had cable.

Either way, it was an insensitive, childish comment. I don't wish to see this story on the news everyday either, but his statement reflects a predictable lack of respect, blurted out due to lack of life experience.
