On our sl600 the blower was making noise grinding on the housing. The strap was broken that holds the motor down. I drilled the strap and the forward housing and put a small bolt to secure it. It fixed the problem. The bad news was when I got it all backed together, I noticed the windshield was cracked from the center (just above the wiper pivot) and about six inches up.

In forty years of wrenching on motorized vehicles and thirty on MB's this is a first,,,, trashing a windsheild. So Be CAREFUL, I couldn't even tell you how it happened, just that it did.
