If you are talking just liability insurance I don't think the make or model of the vehicle make much difference. I think it (the rate quoted) is based almost entirely on age and gender. And a 17 year old male is probably as bad as it can get, unless a person has a record of DUI driving. I don't think a three year old Mazda 323 or Saturn sedan will get you a better rate.
