1995 W124 steering wheel/airbag in a 1986 300SDL

So I am so over the ginormous german transit bus steering wheel I have in the SDL. Not to mention the fact that I need a new air bag (cracking along the seam).

So this week, I got a nice clean wheel and bag from a 1995 E320 Wagon. It will bolt up NO PROBLEM, but I am having issues with the wiring. I know there is a way to make it work, and am hoping that I dont need to snake the whole column from the E320.

The contact ring and the lack of a contact ring on the E320 is what is causing the issue. I can bolt the wheel up no problem, BUT the electrical I need will not really come off the SDL wheel, and since that is a slight problem, I need to be able to put the E320 Wheel into my car. The old SDL wheel is going to be put back into the E320 so that at least it will have a wheel an bag when it goes to the wrecking yard. I got the wheel/bag in a sly sort of way from a buddy of mine and the fact that the old wheel of mine is going back into the old car will divert any attention away from the... "where did the E320 steering wheel go comment..." So needless to say I need to come up with a solution THIS WEEKEND...

I dont have to drive the SDL for a while, as I have another car, so it can sit without a wheel for a week or so...

here is a link to where I posted the pictures since the forum did not like even the resized pix from my EOS 10D...
