In europe, you used to be able to buy a top of the line S class with a stick shift, back in the day. You have not lived until you do a four wheel drift in a big W109 car. It was a 1971 300SEL 3.5, with a four speed stick. Imagine air suspension, over 230hp v8, headlight washers, and really good brakes. The seller got upset because I wanted to buy his car for parts, and he invited me for a ride. We easily hit 130kph in his 'hood before doing a powerslide into a four lane road where he ran it through the gears to well over 100mph. I don't know how fast he really went because the speedo was in kph and I was holding on for dear life. The guy also had a Testarossa, so I figured we were somewhat safe, but I was glad to get out of his car when we got back to his house. I think you could get the W126 cars with stick shift as well. Those crazy Germans.
