If you are going to change out one or both of the pumps, do it while the engine is cold.
I changed one of mine a week ago...even after the car sat for a couple of hours, that fluid was still quite hot...hot enough to make me cuss.
If you do not have a heated washerfluid tank, this post doesn't apply.
