An "alternative" is one where it kinda is like what you don't like but you have to jump thru hoops to get it. D2 is 2.55. The "alternative" biodiesel is $3.33 after you pay $150 a year for the privillage of buying it at that price or the regular price is 3.68
What we do is not considered a boycott, it`s not spending our personal $ with people and items we don`t ethically support, when possible. If it costs us more, so be it. Walking the talk is more valuable to us than saving money in the short term.

When we first started burning biodiesel 7 years ago it was a major push-up and sometimes cost us over $4.00/gallon. But that push-up has paid off big time. Just this summer the first biodiesel processing facility in the state opened up less than 2 miles from our door and is selling B100 for the same price as petrodiesel. The plant`s location has much to do with the demand that came about because a small but growing group of local people showed we were committed to change our fuel buying habits and switch to biofuels. It`s simply a matter of good `ole "supply and demand", we created a demand and a local businessman recognized it and filled the demand with his supply. Simple capitalist economics, working for the good of all. It wasn`t the negative of a boycott but the positive of the market that got us to the point were we have alternative fuel available locally for the same or less than the Devil`s Tea.

In fact, I`m taking a bulk delivery of 250 gallons today for a good deal less than the pump price of petrodiesel.

More biodegradable than sugar, sell toxic than table salt, sourced by crops grown within a 100 mile radius, processed by a local businessman and friend, no $ going to those who don`t like me, and alot less blood on my hands. You can do it too if you apply yourself.
