it wont hurt to do only one, but generally they will want to also do an alignment after replacing one so that is about $75 or so so if you do one now and the other next year you will spend that twice.

so i guess i would check the boots on it and at least renew the boots on the other side and lube it. if the ball joint is tight you prob will be fine for another 5 years or so.

by that time you may not be driving it anymore.
