But then evolution of automobiles points to deliberately removing the driver from the driving experience, dont it?

LOL...I think when the engineers in the father land were designing these cars and trying to improve them they were looking at a market beyond crusty ol, gear jammen truck drivers. We're lucky to have a fairly heavy and solid diesel car available with a manual tranny. Lots of manual, light weight, rice burners out there tho.

When I was in high school I had a "53"Oldsmobile "Rocket 88" with a 3 spd, manual tranny, the 240s kinda remind me of that car except for the HP

I wonder if that short piece of linkage in back of the IP could be subsituted for the little shock.
