Well I finally got the valve stem seals replaced. I have been driving the car for several days now and the smokey startups are gone!!! It looks like the stem seals were the problem. Today I added a K&N air filter and new rack dampener bolt and ran a can of diesel purge through it using the glass jar procedure.

So this is what a diesel is suppose to run like...!!!!
