I was once in the habit of photographing light houses (there's an original idea) and hoped to make it out to Montauk and other ones along the way. Maybe I'll make it yet.

I hope you have a great time in "the city." Doen here people call Washington, DC "the city," as though there was no other city in the world. It must be a proximity-thing.
When I tell people unfamiliar with Long Island that I live in a little rural farming village on Long Island people think I am pulling their leg. The east end of Long Island is beautiful and there are several lighthouses. My wife was a photography major and went through her "lighthouse" phase. Now she likes taking photos of the kids, the dog and flowers. Her favorite venue for flowers is the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx or Longwood Gardens near Philly.
