It's unfortunate that you left the entire muffler system on the highway. Pretty much any muffler cobbler can duplicate it (with an example to follow) using aluminized steel tubing, resonator and muff from off the shelf.

And in this fashion the total cost for me was $220 replacing the entire system from stem to stern. Somewhere around $140 for parts + 2 hrs labor welding each joint and fabricating custom hangers.

Dunno why anybody should replace with OEM MB muffler system, built in Mexico using crummier steel at triple the price. And all those hot-rod ideas using straight pipes sound kinda nutty to me.

These are diesels for cryin out loud...... this means the engines operate on their own accord. Fiddling and messing with em by adding fiddly gadgets is generally a waste of time.
