It's a common problem.
#6 failed on the '86 during my last trip to Raleigh. Cracked right through the tube and I lost the cylinder completely for the last 150 miles.
After installing the new tube, the cylinder had a decent amount of injector knock, which subsequently cleared itself after about 500 miles. So, don't be overly concerned if it happens to you. With mine, it may have been related to driving it nearly 200 miles on 5 cylinders.
Just to make you fellows feel bad..........I still managed 24.6 mpg on the tank with all the fuel for #6 flowing out onto the pavement.
