From what I've read, it is nylon, and BioD won't affect it. It also probably isn't something you really want to mess with -- I haven't looked it up, but I'll bet there's some mildly complicated procedure to purging it of any introduced particles (bigger than the filter would let through) that might potentially gum up the IP or an injector. I suspect they used a different, more durable, material for those particular lines because they didn't want them to be a routine field maintence item.
