79 6.9 Chain tensioner

All

I've just replaced my timing chain and tensioner at a trusted mechanic here in Dallas. Since the chain was replaced, the engine sprung an oil leak at the tensioner assembly. From what my mechanic tells me, the tensioner comes as an assembly consisting of the tensioner and then a block of steel that bolts to the head.

Even though a good gasket is being used, it doesn't appear to seal correctly.

Has anyone run across this issue?

Do I need to replace the rest of the tensioner assembly? If so are they available here in the US and does anyone know what the part numbers are?
