JM.02, if you are pulling out the compressor, go back with R 12. especially in TX HOT HOT HOT! get either R12, or stay with 134a and replace the condenser. lucky me, I still have around 50LBs of R12... most of the oil is in the compressor and the reciever. if you change both of them, you will be pulling out most of the oil. while the system is open, flush some nitrogen through the lines, and it will blow the remainder of the oil out. then flush with a SMALL amount of refergerant, and evacuate. charge up with the correct amount of mineral oil and freon and go!~
