Thanks for the advice on the vacuum set up, I'm in norther Virginia and diesels (at least 84s) are exempt from any emissions inspections. I have not read up recently but now seems like a good time to delete the egr and buy or fabricate the block off plate.

I knew there were some difference between my 84 and the 85 but since I don't have an 85 I never took the time to understand them. I credit the seller of the 85 engine with giving me a heads up. Looks like my next move is to acquire the 85 engine and get to work, but at least I won't be swapping IPs.
