Are you calling me a liar?
Bear in mind, this is a first-generation DOHC(discontinued in second-generation cars) MTX model. The car weighs 2,500 pounds, has a decent drag-coefficient(.32) and has exceeded the 39mpg I quoted many times in the last 10 years of driving. I'm not stupid and I wouldn't lie about something so trivial-- let alone to people I consider friends.
On a trip to Ohio-- the car got 425 miles per tank. It routinely travels 150-175 miles on $10.00. On the last day of Hanukkah, it traveled 192 miles on a ten. It might not be 39, but it's damned close-- and with 150,000 miles on unchanged MTX fluid, original axles, wheel bearings I've never serviced and
with no servicable fuel filter-- that's damned impressive.
Would you like me to make a video and youtube it for you? I'll put 5 bux in it and tape the entire drive until it sputters. We'll wager what?
