I'd consider pulling the injectors and having them tested anyway. Bosch service centers usually do it for 2 or 3 bucks per. Cold smoke is common. Do you get smoke after car sits a short time, say one hour? If so, you may want to replace valve seals--easy job. The diesel leak is unfortunate. Doesn't it always seem that once you fix one thing, another totally unrelated thing breaks? The rise in compression may not give you a noticable difference in torque or HP, but you can bet your motor is thankful. Valves that are tight and don't seat properly build up carbon and unburned fuel gunk. I had two out of five holes at 120 lbs. or lower, mostly due to valves. But what's funny is the car still ran well. 0-60 was acceptable. But lots of fuel smoke and a good bit of blue smoke due to guides that were real sloppy.
