Just as a note...
Mine had PRND32 instead of PRNDSL like the older cars do.
D = 1-4 Normal shifting, first gear start.
3 = 1-3...I've noticed slightly higher shift points in 3 than in D, but that may just be me.
2 = 1-2...If accelerating from a stop in 2, it will start and stay in first gear until at or very near redline, then it will shift to second and stay there. Shifting into 2 while driving will drop to second if within the second gear speed range.
So if you wanted to shift it like a manual, start off in 2 or L, get to the appropriate RPM, briefly shift to 3, then back to 2, wait till you want to go to third, then shift to 3, wait till you want to go to fourth, then shift to D. Pain in the butt, but it works. Pretty easy to do by feel with the MB shifter arrangement too.
