I get a lot of that, but more in the Jeep than the Benz ... I think most people have some idea that MBs made diesels. Even then, the 603, when warm, is a fairly subtle "clatter" and doesn't scream "diesel," so I guess some people just figure it's an awkwardly running gasser. The Jeep is very quite, for a diesel, so a lot of people won't even believe me when I tell them it's one ... but it certainly sounds different from a gasser, especially at throttle. So people think it's too quiet to be a diesel and must be a malfunctioning gasser. They look at me like, "WHAT did that chick do to her Jeep?!!"
