The general concensus on adjusting the ALDA was to turn it out until you just get a faint visible amount of grey smoke at full acceleration at around 4000 or so RPM. It's not an exact science but it seems to work ok. Oh, and make sure you do it in full sunlight because at night, you can see a lot of particulate matter in other people's headlights.
