It's funny how different people attach different values to the same object. I've got plenty of seat time and ownership ownership experience in the W123 chassis and I've never understood the near deity status it seems to enjoy on this, and other, sites. From my perspective the "I'm afraid of a check engine light" people are paying a heavy price for their insistence on simplicity. I keep wondering how many of the W123 fan club members have ever driven a nice example of a W124, W210 or a W202.

I have not used a W123 as a daily driver for over and decade and I wouldn't pay $2100 for ANY W123 chassis car but there are apparently lots of people that are willing to pony up 10X that amount on a really pristine example.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.
