You cannot see coolant in the oil until the crack gets very severe. You might have oil leaking into the combustion chambers, and, hence the blue hue from the exhaust.

There is a test for the coolant that can detect combustion by-products.

An oil analysis would also confirm Glycol in the coolant, if any.

If the level of coolant is dropping in the expansion tank, you've already got your answer..........although I'm quite sure that you're in the denial phase.............
