Luckily for me, I had not yet tossed the old drag link assembly. I compared it to the new one on the car, and I believe I found the problem.

The steering damper bracket is welded to the drag link in the wrong place. It's about 10mm too far to the passenger side of the car. At this point, I'm not certain what to do with it. Being a part that I purchased online makes exchanging it difficult. Then there's the fact that I purchased it about two months ago. I think at this point I may just end up salvaging the old, unbent bracket, and welding it to the new drag link. It will be faster than waiting for a replacement part that may also be incorrect.

For the record, this is a Myle brand part.
