Works for me
We've got a Pur filter on our kitchen faucet and it seems to work fine. Filters last 10-12 months.
When we vacation at the beach we always take one of the Britta filters with us. Tap water at the beach is horrible but the Britta makes it clear and taste fine.
I generally refill a plastic water bottle with filtered tap water instead of buying bottled water. It's cheaper and you still have the convenience of the screw top plastic bottle.
